Are You Ready to Begin?  Fall Classes Start on Monday! How to Design an Online Class is nearly full already. In this class, you'll learn how to assess your knowledge and expertise, and how to turn it into a virtual course that can be offered to anyone in the world with computer access. In the last class, we had two students from Australia, one from the UK, with the rest logging on from the US and Canada.  You'll learn how to market and promote your course, as well as some of the best behind-the-scenes techniques for taking care of all the little administrative details that can take so much time. The great thing is that you do not have to be online at any particular time to take this course. All material is sent out via email, so you can work at your own pace, whenever you like. You have total flexibility in completing the lessons. And if you complete the class, you can propose it to the Ageless Grace Online Academy, and we'll consider offering it to our community of online learners. New Line-up of Autumn Courses

Do you feel it? The air is cooler in the mornings. The evenings are shorter. Autumn is definitely making its approach. And that means ... back to school!  Dr. Joann Freeburg, of Hendersonville, NC and Landrum, SC, a student in a recent Ageless Grace Online Academy class, was sharing with me her memories of the first day of school when she was a child. She said it was a tradition that her parents would take pictures of her and her siblings...with their new clothes, new haircuts, new books. It seems we've never outgrown the excitement of September and going back to school. To celebrate that spirit, she sent me a photo of herself with a notebook she created for our online class. How to Design an Online Course

I've developed this new course to prepare potential instructors, and we're opening up the opportunity to all of you in the extended Ageless Grace community. All who complete the class assignments satisfactorily will have their course considered for inclusion in our roster of classes. The course is also open to all who would like to learn to create an effective online course to offer in their own virtual communities. 

This four-week course will teach you the basics of creating an online course:

• Assess your expertise and determine a topic
• Create your course materials, and how to best use audio, video, and teleconferencing
• Logically sequence your course information
• Write a compelling course description and title
• Publicize your course
• How to register students and get paid

ENROLLMENT IS LIMITED!  Because I will give personal feedback on each assignment you complete, I can work with only a limited number of students at a time. So if you'd like to participate in this unique opportunity, please register as soon as possible. Registration will be closed as soon as all slots have been filled. 

Teaching an online class is a great way to extend your reach, to increase your professional credibility, and to earn extra income with very little additional overhead. The great thing is that you can work from your home or office, with only a computer and access to the Internet and email.

My own career as an online instructor began more than 15 years ago. I was an adjunct faculty member in the online division of the Adult Education Program at Santa Fe Community College in New Mexico. Since then, I have taught numerous courses, both online and in person, in subjects such as writing, spirituality, personal development, and small business.
