Composing a Literary Life

Is it time?

Time for you to set out on that journey you've dreamed about, thought about secretly, but up until now have not taken the time, or perhaps had the courage, to pursue:

Becoming a writer and taking your writing seriously

I decided to create a course for those of you who've been toying with the idea of getting serious about your writing.

Maybe you've done some writing, kept a journal, written a few blog posts. Or maybe you've just dreamed about the writer's life, but never really made a commitment to pursuing that dream.

Could it be that NOW is the time to start??

If so, this class will give you the tools you need to start, to persevere, and to succeed in creating a life as a writer.

Composing a Literary Life: The Seven Habits of the Committed Writer

Register here.

Here are the seven habits that you need to develop in order to become a successful and committed writer:

1. Write According to a Schedule
2. Create Your Personal Writing Ritual
3. Revise Your Work
4. Read Widely and Wisely
5. Build Your Personal Literary Community
6. Nourish Your Creative Impulse (and banish Resistance!)
7. Share (Publish!) Your Work
In this course, you'll get practical suggestions on exactly how you can build your own writer's life. I'll share with you
  • The special routines and practices of successful writers, both contemporary and writers who've gone before
  • The best resources I know to help you join the community of successful, productive writers
  • Methods for tracking your progress

The course will include written material, journaling suggestions, video, and assignments that you're welcome to submit to me for feedback. You are also welcome to join a private Facebook group where you can share your progress, ask questions, and get feedback from others who have made this same commitment to their writing lives.

And at the end of the course, if you do all the assignments, you will have a piece of work ready to share!

Register here.

The course is self-paced and is offered completely via email. You do NOT have to be online at specific times. Work on the assignments when it's convenient for you. I'll be available via email to answer your questions, give you feedback on your assignments, and suggest resources specifically tailored to your needs and challenges.

I hope you'll join me. Take this opportunity to become the writer you've always wanted to be!
